I have had the honor and absolute pleasure of teaching at Skinner for the past 23 years! This will be my seventh year in seventh grade after a long rewarding career in third grade and before that, a short time in second and several years in kindergarten.
I attended Augustana College for my undergraduate work and National Louis University where I received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction.
My favorite author is Haruki Murakami and favorite book is The Wind Up Bird Chronicle. I appreciate the dreamlike and unworldly mood he creates for me as I read. Lately, I have enjoyed reading memoirs, historical fiction and non-fiction. This summer I read Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner, The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison, The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett, and Caste: The Origins of our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson.
My favorite band is Wilco.
I have an awesome family and am a mother of three amazing boys ages 17, 12, and 10.
In my free time I love to run, eat out and explore new cuisines and restaurants, go to as many concerts and festivals as I can, travel, and explore all the amazing places our great city has to offer.
When I am not at school or with my family, you will find me along the 606 trail training for a some local races.
